| Walsh Shadows Design Department |
| 06/20/2007 |
Kerri Walsh, a student at the Academy for Arts, Sciences and Technology, recently observed the design department of Marketing Strategies, Inc. For a week, Walsh shadowed the graphic design team, to further explore a potential career opportunity in advertising.
The objective of the shadowing program is to allow students to interact and observe specialists in their field of study. As an Entertainment Technology student, Walsh is focusing her studies towards film directing and production. After graduating from the Academy in 2008, Walsh plans to attend Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
"As someone in the creative field, it's always rewarding to be able to pass on techniques and information to future generations who may follow in your footsteps or continue in a related field,” said Scott Noe, Graphic Designer at Marketing Strategies, Inc. “There are few things more rewarding than being responsible for the furthering of someone else's ability to succeed."
According to Denise Blackburn, APR, President of Marketing Strategies, Inc., “These students are at their prime – full of energy and an eagerness to learn. The shadow program coincides with PrinciplesSM, our agency’s internship program. Both provide students with hands-on experience in all aspects of advertising, developing the skills they will need for a successful future.”
Marketing Strategies, Inc. is a full-service advertising agency with offices in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Conway, SC. The corporation has been recognized nationwide for its award-winning ad campaigns and PR activities, and was recently named “One of the Southeast’s Ten Most Reliable Web Design Firms.” |
